LAHORE –  Newly elected Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Syed Mohsin Naqvi chaired the first Board of Governors meeting where he revived the commercial expenses of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9.

The commercial expenses had earlier been reduced as the previous administration committee had expected the profits of approximately Rs1.945 billion PSL 9.

The sources said that  almost half of the Board of Governors participated in person in the meeting while others took part through a video link.

The BoG under Mr. Naqvi reinstated the past commercial budget, increasing it from Rs459,500,000 to Rs544,500,000. The sources said that the Rs85 million cut imposed by Zaka administration on commercial expenses has been restored.

Apart from commercial expenses, the cuts in logistics, administrative, and electricity expenses have also been restored.

A cut of Rs56 million has been made in the security budget.

The original budget for security was approximately Rs286 million, which has been adjusted to Rs230 million including its surrounding adjustments.

According to the sources, there is no change in the media expenses as they remain at approximately Rs6.5 million for the current season.

The earnings from PSL, an essential part of PCB’s revenue have increased from approximately Rs675 million to Rs725 million with an adjustment of Rs50 million.

A well-informed source mentioned that PCB anticipated a net profit of approximately Rs1.945 billion from Season 9.

A committee will also be formed to review the recent restrictions imposed on a former PCB official. The committee will have full authority to review all details.
