ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated party stalwart Omar Ayub Khan for the positon of prime minister as the race for forming the government intensified after the election 2024.

Talking to media after holding a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan in the Adiala Jail, former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser said the decision to nominate Omary Ayub, who is also general secretary of PTI, was made after proper consultation.

Qaiser said he had been given the task of holding consultation with political parties, including JUI-F and ANP.

He alleged that large-scale electoral fraud took place in election 2024, adding that no one will accept any illegitimate government. “We will sit in the assembly and also fight a legal battle, we will convene a parliamentary party meeting in a day or two,” he announced.

He said that foreign countries including the US and Europe had raised concerns over the alleged rigging in the elections.

“We will protest in the assembly and also present our position to the public,” he said, adding that the PTI founder would give a date for protest by evening.
