Pakistan Super League PSL 9 is set to spring into action from February 17 2024, and teams are hitting nets ahead of the country’s flagship T20 event.
The country’s flamboyant hitter Babar Azam joined Peshawar Zalmi last year and ahead of training session, skipper brother was spotted, raising concerns among fans.
As Zalmi advanced training regime to bolster skills for the ninth edition, Babar Azam’s younger brother Safeer Azam garnered unwanted attention.
The sibling of the country’s former skipper raised eyebrows among cricket fans who called it nepotism as Safeer is not a professional cricketer and has not even started career in sports.
Babar’s critics also hurled accusations of favoritism against the cricketer, who holds influence in team. Internet users alleged that Safeer Azam’s participation in training sessions leverages the player’s reputation within Peshawar Zalmi.
As some raised eyebrows, others cheered young gun to attend training camp.
