Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amer Hafiz Naeem has said the rulers are piling all burden over the people but avoiding slashing their luxuries.
The JI has been holding demonstrations against inflation and the government’s agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs). The inflation-hit people are bearing the brunt of exorbitant electricity bills.

Talking to media JI chief called it a big joke with the people, adding that “the government have to accept our demands, the matter will not be resolved without it”.
The JI chief has announced that the party leaders and workers would hold a sit-in in front of Governor House in Karachi on Wednesday. It would be followed by protests in Lahore, Multan and Peshawar, he added.

“The protest will spread to the whole country after it,” he said. “We will sit first in front of the Governor House and the Chief Minister House and in the next phase, we will stage sit-ins at highways,” he added.

He said the protest would spread to all over country as people had been facing problems due to inefficiency and corruption.—NNI
