Agriculture is backbone of National Economy and the government is taking all possible measures to improve socio-economic condition of farmers and to increase per acre yield in the country.
These views were expressed by the Commissioner Gujrat Ahmad Kamal Maan while addressing a video-link meeting held to review availabilities of fertilizers and anti-smog activities in the division including Hafizabad district.
Deputy Commissioners of Hafizabad, Gujrat, Wazirabad, Mandi Bahauddin and others officers attended the meeting.
The Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners and other concerned officers to ensure urea, DAP fertilizers and other necessary facilities to farmers for achieving target per acre yield of wheat and other crops in the division.
He also directed the DCs and other officers to adopt zero tolerance policy and take strict and result-oriented steps against those who would found involve in sale of spurious fertilizers and pesticides in their respective districts.
