Punjab Minister for Special Education Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq has said that government is committed to provide special facilities to persons with disabilities for lessening their grievances.
He was speaking at a gathering held at Alhamra Lahore in connection with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Friday.
Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq while highlighting the initiatives taken by the government for the education and rehabilitation of differently-abled children, said that the government has provided free pick and drop, education and other facilities while a dedicated helpline and complaints cell is also set up to resolve the problems of special persons.
Meanwhile, he said a sports complex was being set up in Sharaqpur over an area of 104 Kanal to provide different recreational facilities to special children including a swimming pool and residence.
Secretary Special Education Saima Saeed emphasized that special children are not less in abilities than anybody. —INP
