Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Tuesday said that the Punjab government is striving hard to keep the youth particularly womenfolk abreast of modern scientific and technological innovation, needs and requirements to enable them to play a proactive role in the national development.
Addressing a ceremony held in connection with ‘World Thinking Day’ by Pakistan Girl Guides Association Punjab on Tuesday, SACM Dr Firdous said the PTI government is endeavoring to make future builders of the nation economically empowered to expedite the development process.
Today, the government has provided a level playing field to the womenfolk to play an active role in different walks of life including the judiciary, administration, media, etc.
The SACM regretted that on the one hand, Pakistan was defamed by the foreign powers and on the other hand, it remained victim to the spate of terrorism. Today, on this occasion we pay tribute to those martyrs who sacrificed their lives for restoring peace in the country.
She also lauded the services of the Pakistan Girl Guides Association in the character building of young girls and women which enabled them to make maximum contribution to the welfare of their homes, community and country.
Later, while talking to the media, the Special Assistant said the PML-N always preferred ‘selection’ instead of election.
The Daska election has smashed all the hopes of PML-N as the people of Daska have rejected the hereditary politics of PML-N.
It is ironic that PML-N considers the election in Wazirabad fair because it has won there but crying for rigging in Daska where it has lost the election, she said.
Dr Firdous said the media is fully aware of the fact that initially PML-N not only accepted results of 337 polling stations but Maryam also announced the victory. She said that Maryam Nawaz did not mention that she would not accept results in her tweet as she was confident about the victory.
Meanwhile, Rana Sanaullah devised a strategy to promote violence and encouraged firing at three persons of a family.
The Special Assistant said the PM Imran Khan has proposed re-polling in 20 polling stations as a goodwill gesture while PTI has achieved success in the result cards available with the PML-N.
According to form 45, PTI achieved success on 16 polling stations while PML-N remained victorious in four polling stations, she said. The PML-N started crying foul at 3:15 am when the full result was announced and started propaganda to make the election controversial, she further said.
