Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Punjab, Muhammad Mamoon Tarar has said that present government is committed to promote tourism in the province and the Punjab government is spending more than two billion of rupees for provision of different facilities at exiting tourists resorts and developing new tourists places in the province during current fiscal year.
While talking to journalists and people belongs to different segments of society during visit of his constituency, on Saturday, he said that tourism was a big source of earning foreign exchange particularly religious tourism.
He said that the Punjab government has started construction work on Gujranwala-Kot Sarwar Motorway Interchange via Hafizabad city for providing better communicational facilities to the commuters of district Hafizabad, Gujranwala and other districts of central and southern Punjab whereas this project would be completed with the cost of Rs. 9 billion.
Responding to a question, he said that construction work on Jalalpur Bhattian to Kot Hara road would be started soon and this scheme would complete at a cost of Rs.1.20 billion.
Replying to another query, he said that construction work on new building of state of the art district headquarters hospital and University of Hafizabad would also be started soon. During the visit of his constituency, he inspected ongoing development schemes and checked stander of material being used in the schemes.
