Governor Sindh calls for burn wards in every district

Governor Sindh, Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, emphasized the need for establishing at least 100 burn hospitals across Pakistan and setting up burn wards in every district of Sindh. Speaking at the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Civil Hospital Burn Centre held at the Governor House, he lauded the role of public-private partnerships and the Friends of Burns Centre in sustainable healthcare development.

The event was attended by notable figures, including founder Arjumand A. Qazi, Dr. Shaista Afandi, and Muhammad Abdullah Feroze, alongside consuls and deputy consuls general from Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, China, Japan, and other countries, as well as members of the Friends of Burns Centre, doctors, and other dignitaries. Congratulating the Civil Hospital Burn Centre on completing two decades, Governor Tessori stated, “Established in 2004, this center is a historic milestone.”

He assured full cooperation with the center’s management and added, “Governments must do more than just allocate land; they must also build hospitals.” The governor highlighted the critical role of collaboration between the government and private sectors in improving healthcare.  He termed the efforts of the Friends of Burns Centre exemplary and reiterated the necessity of building burn wards across Sindh to enhance medical facilities and save lives of burn victims. The event celebrated the Burn Centre’s 20-year journey and its contributions, with participants pledging to work towards further advancements in the healthcare sector.
