Islamabad: Breaking its seven-day winning streak, the price of gold dropped marginally on Monday but stayed above the Rs200,000 per tola level.

Data released by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) showed that the price of gold fell by Rs1,000 per tola and Rs858 per 10 grams to settle at Rs207,300 and Rs177,726, respectively.

During the last seven sessions before Monday, the safe-haven commodity jumped from Rs197,500 per tola to Rs208,300, gaining Rs10,800, due to the persistent economic and financial turmoil in the country.

Meanwhile, silver prices in the domestic market remained stable at Rs2,250 per tola and Rs1,929 per 10 grams.
