George Linde, who took four wickets in the first T20 match against Pakistan, revealed that he missed the team bus before the crucial game.
He shared that an unusual incident led to the team departing from the hotel for the stadium without him. “When I came downstairs 15 minutes late, I saw the bus leaving, which left me momentarily worried,” he said.
Linde explained that his phone was 15 minutes behind the actual time, which caused the confusion. “The team management had instructed us to board the bus by 4 PM. I’ll make sure such a mistake doesn’t happen again,” he added.
The cricketer further mentioned that, with the help of team management, he found his way to the stadium. “Luckily, an official cooperated with me and helped me catch up with the team bus,” Linde explained.
George Linde made significant contributions in the match, scoring 48 off 24 balls and then delivering an exceptional bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for just 21 runs in 4 overs, playing a pivotal role in South Africa’s victory.
The second T20 match of the series between the two teams is scheduled to take place on Friday in Centurion.
