Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid has stated that in accordance with the party agreement reached during the 2020 elections, Syed AmjadZaidi has resigned from the position of Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly after serving for one and a half years.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Nazeer Ahmed Advocate as the new Speaker.
I am delighted that PTI Gilgit-Baltistan has fulfilled its important electoral promise through mutual unity and understanding, even in challenging circumstances.
I commend Syed AmjadZaidi for his decision to resign in an honorable manner to fulfill this commitment. I have strong hope that Nazeer Ahmed Advocate, while utilizing his abilities and qualifications, will effectively lead the affairs of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and establish good democratic practices.
