Ambassadors, high commissioners and diplomats have extended their heartfelt felicitations to the Pakistani nation on the 147th birth anniversary of the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (born on 25 December 1876).

High Commissioner of Canada, Leslie Scanlon on social media site ‘X’ (formerly twitter) shared a video in which she could be seen sitting on a steam locomotive at the Golra Railway Station felicitating the Pakistani nation the ‘Quaid-e-Azam Day’ and Christmas. She reiterated Canada’s resolve to broaden and strengthen bilateral relations with Pakistan.

“Today, I want to wish you all a joyous and peaceful season however you may be celebrating,” she said. While referring to the steam locomotive she was sitting on, she said it was built back in 1945 by the Canadian Locomotive Company Kingston. Quaid-e-Azam might have travelled by this train, she said adding “it again is a reminder of our ties with Pakistan.”

While Pakistan is celebrating Quaid-e-Azam Day, we cherish the vision of the Founder of Pakistan and emphasize “the principles of equality, social inclusion, respect for diversity and equal opportunities for all,” she said adding these values also resonate strongly in Canada’s ethos.

Ambassadors of the European Union, Dr Riina Kionka felicitated the Pakistani friends on the Quaid-e-Azam Day by sharing her picture with a couple of books titled ‘Jinnah.’

The French embassy also felicitated the Pakistanis on the ‘birthday of the Founder of the Nation.’ In a tweet on ‘X’ the French embassy from its official handle commented in the following words: “On this day commemorating the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, we extend our best wishes for peace, unity and prosperity to the people of Pakistan.” Similarly, the UK high commission in Islamabad also posted a prominent picture of the Founder of Pakistan expressing felicitation on both Christmas and the Quaid-e-Azam Day.
