The ambassador of Turkmenistan in Islamabad, Atadjan Mavlamov on Thursday said international investors were eager to invest in Pakistan.

He said this in a meeting with Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musaddiq Malik at which they discussed matters pertaining to Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project, besides other bilateral issues.

Turkmenistan announced earlier this month that it has completed laying of its portion of TAPI pipeline as well as the construction of Tran-Afghan Railway Line project up to its Torghundi border point on Turmen-Afghan border.

From that point, the gas pipeline is planned to proceed to Herat and Kandahar in Afghanistan before entering Pakistan where it will reach Multan via Quetta.

“TAPI project is vital to Pakistan’s energy requirements and we are committed to complete it,” Musaddiq Malik said at the meeting.

Ambassador Mavlamov said a discernible change has taken place in Pakistan’s economic condition and ‘the credit for this goes to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team.’

Both sides thoroughly discussed energy collaboration between Pakistan and Turkmenistan and Mavlamov invited the minister to visit Ashgabat to further the collaboration.
