The Foreign Office on Monday gave the update in Dr Aafia Siddiqui case to the court of Justice Sardar Aijaz Ishaque Khan of Islamabad High Court.
Advocate Hafiz Arafat represented Dr Fowzia Siddiqui, the sister of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. He appraised the court briefly about the situation of the case of Dr Aafia and said that there is no improvement in the situation whatsoever.
The court observed that it would go through the update presented by the Foreign Office. It further observed that if the state institutions properly follow up this case it could reach to its logical conclusion.
The court asked the lawyer of Dr Fowzia Siddiqui to also assist the court in this regard so that the case could reach its logical conclusion. The court asked the government of Pakistan and its foreign office to take serious and result-oriented efforts in Dr Aafia Siddiqui case.
