RAWALPINDI – Five Pakistan Army soldiers embraced martyrdom as an improvised explosive device (IED) struck a security forces’ vehicle in KP’s Kurram district, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
A statement issued by the military’s media wing said the terror incident occurred in Saddam area of Kurram district, resulting in the martyrdom of Havaldar Aqeel Ahmed, Lance Naik Muhammad Tafeer, Sepoy Anush, Sepoy Haroon William, and Sepoy Muhammad Azam Khan.
Army said efforts are underway to sanitize the area and apprehend those behind this attack. Perpetrators of this act will be brought to justice, military’s media wing said in statement.
Army jawans and officer continue to battle militancy in northwestern regions. Earlier this month, Pakistan Army captain was martyred after an improvised explosive device (IED) hit the vehicle of the security forces in Lakki Marwat district.
Pakistani forces have been actively engaged in combating militancy within the country for several years. This battle against militancy includes a range of operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, improving security, and stabilizing regions affected by militant activities.
