Fazl slams desecration of Holy Quran

Pakistan Democratic Chief (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has condemned the despicable act of desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden.

Expressing his thoughts, Fazl said, “The sacrilege in Sweden has hurt Muslims’ feelings all across the world. This heinous act appears to be an attempt to undermine efforts to uphold international peace”.

“I want to urge the global community to work towards bringing the extremists to justice,” maintained Fazl.

Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan denounced abhorrent act of the Holy Quran in Sweden, saying it was an example of the ill thinking of western leaders. It is strongly condemnable the Swedish government allowed the desecration of the Holy Quran to occur on the auspicious occasion of Eid.

“The despicable act of the Holy Quran’s sacrilege has wounded the feelings of billions of Muslims,” Aleem lamented.

President Dr Arif Alvi condemned the desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden, saying the tragic act had greatly hurt the feelings of billions of Muslims.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, the president said, “Every state must take measures for the prevention of such Islamophobic acts. I urge the international community to work for promoting inter-faith harmony and dialogue to create tolerance for each other’s religious beliefs and values”. “Humanity must move away from acts of senseless hatred towards uniting the world in peace,” he maintained.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he was disgusted and appalled by the incident of public burning of the Holy Quran in front of a mosque in Sweden.

In a tweet on social media platform Twitter, he said, “Disgusted and appalled by the incident of public burning of the Holy Quran in front of a mosque in Sweden.”

“Such vile, despicable and heinous Islamophobic acts brazenly violate international law. I have no words to adequately condemn this anti-Islam act, which is clearly meant to hurt the feelings of Muslims around the world.—NNI
