Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday filed for an investigation into a notification of an “unknown” woman on the party’s reserved seat in the National Assembly by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The electoral authority issued the notification, bearing number F6 of 2024, for the success of the said unknown woman on the NA reserved seat from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Reacting to this, Fazl submitted a request seeking the suspension of the notification and investigation into the matter.
“Sadaf Sultan is neither our party (JUI-F) member nor named in our list. Notification for Sadaf Ehsan should be suspended and Ms Hina Bibi should be notified [on the reserved seat],” Fazl’s request stated.
He also raised a question of whether the notification for Sadaf was issued by mistake or there was a conspiracy behind the matter.
Meanwhile, Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-F on Monday decided to launch a protest movement against the newly-formed federal government as the party accused the 2024 general elections of being ‘rigged’.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman-led JUI-F would stage public gatherings in Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as part of its ‘protest movement’.
The decision came after Maulana Fazlur Rehman completed consultation with party’s central executive committee.
