Secretary Agriculture Punjab has stated that Farmers’ Platform is being set up to facilitate consumers in 30 markets and model bazars across the province will prove to be a welcome boost for farmers and consumers.
Fruit and Green Market across Punjab in Badami Bagh, Singhpura, Multan Road, Kacha Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Sheikhupura, Kasur, DG Khan, Bahawalnagar, Sadiqabad, Mianwali, Burewala, Muzaffargarh,Toba Tek Singh, Sialkot, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Bhakkar, Pakpattan, Okara, Sahiwal, Gujarat, Rahim Yar Khan, Chakwal, Rajanpur and Chichawatni where specific location has been allotted to farmers and they will not pay commission and market fees in lieu of selling their products to consumers.
They will be able to sell goods directly to the consumers. Government of Punjab has arranged clean water for the farmers to drink on the spot / farmer platform. Secretary Agriculture Punjab further said that the farmers of the tunnel farming can also benefit from this facility.
Under program of farmer’s platform, farmers and consumers will both benefitted and off-course, consumers will get fresh and cheaper food for their utility.
