JHANG – Former interior minister Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat has decided to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The formal announcement of Faisal Saleh Hayat’s inclusion in the PML-N will take place today (Wednesday) in Shah Jewaan where he has arranged welcome ceremony in honour of party President Shehbaz Sharif.

Faisal Saleh Hayat told media that he is joining the PML-N after receiving the opinion of the voters in his region.

He had previously parted ways with Pakistan Peoples Party to join the PML-Q during former president Pervez Musharraf’s tenure. He later rejoined the PPP in 2017. In 2018, he contested elections on the PPP’s ticket but faced defeat by a narrow margin of only 600 votes.

Faisal Saleh Hayat has remained the federal interior minister and also served as the president of the Pakistan Football Federation for an extended period.
