Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Syed Shibli Faraz has said that the Business community is the lifeblood of the economy and facilitating them in promoting business activities is the key focus of the incumbent PTI government.
This was said him while addressing the business community after inaugurating a state-of-the-art auditorium in the Export Display Centre building of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) on Wednesday. MNA Ms. Sajida Zulfiqar, Chairman Founder Group Mian Akram Farid, Senior Vice President Tahir Abbasi, Vice President ICCI Saif ur Rehman Khan, Khalid Javed, Abdul Rauf Alam, Zubair Ahmed Malik, Tariq Sadiq, Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, Khalid Iqbal Malik, Ch. Waheed ud Din, Mian Shaukat Masud, Zafar Bakhtawari, Nasir Qureshi, Malik Sohail Hussain, Khalid Chaudhry and a large number of business community members were present at the occasion.
Syed Shibli Faraz said that business community should identify the opportunities of joint ventures in foreign countries and government would facilitate them in their materialization. He said business community supported the government during the Covid-19 pandemic and government was responsible for protecting their respect and honor in society.
He said that due to the wise decisions of the Prime Minister Imran Khan, economic activities have been restored in the country. He congratulated ICCI for constructing a state-of-the-art auditorium in its new building and stressed that federal ministers of finance, commerce and other business related ministries should hold policy dialogues in this facility to make consensus economic policies. He said that government would support ICCI in strengthening industry-academia linkages and entrepreneurship promotion.
In his welcome address, President ICCI Muhammad Ahmed Waheed said that the basic purpose of constructing a state-of-the-art auditorium in the new building of ICCI was to hold policy dialogue with federal ministers on budget and other business related policies.
He said that the business community was the fourth pillar of the economy and key stakeholder in the economic development of the country, therefore, government should formulate economic policies in consultation with them that would put the country on the path of sustainable economic growth. He said that ICCI utilize the auditorium to promote industry-academia linkages along with promoting start-up businesses and companies.
