The Pakistani government has slashed prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs4.74 for June 2024.
Petrol prices dropped by Rs4.74 per litre, making the new price Rs. 268.36 per litre, while diesel prices will decrease by Rs3.80 per litre.
This decision follows a recommendation from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). A notification from the Finance Ministry stated that the price of petrol has been adjusted for next two weeks.
Rs15 drop in petrol price?
Prime Minister proposed Rs15 per litre drop in petrol price, but the summary was rejected and only slight relief was passed on for inflation hit people.
Historically, the Pakistani government announces petrol prices every two weeks, adjusting the rates based on international oil prices, exchange rates, and other factors.
