A delegation of ex-servicemen comprising DASB welfare officers and Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society (PESS) district office bearers headed by district president PESS Major retired Sher Muhammad Gondal met with Additional District Collector (Revenue) Malik Gazanfar Saturday at his office and brought their problems to his notice.
The delegation members said there are frequent complaints from retired soldiers and their widows that the government functionaries do not attend their complaints and behave with them in an undesired manner.
They demanded that all departments shall be directed to redress ex-servicemen genuine and fair complaints on merit and treat them with respect.
They also pointed out that ex-servicemen are given free arms license; there is no fee for license renewal. Now they are told that they should get their licenses renewed from NADRA. NADRA charges Rs 1600 for renewal of license after every five year. This is only applicable in Punjab.
