Former chief justice of Federal Shariat Court Justice (retd) Haziqul Khairi has passed away in Karachi, his family said on Sunday.Justice Haziqul Khairi’s Namaz-i-Janaza was offered at Mubarak Masjid in DHA Phase V after Zohr prayers on Sunday.Justice Khairi had also served as a judge of the Sindh High Court. Besides he had also worked as provincial ombudsman and remained principal of Sindh Muslim Law College. He had also served as member of the Council of Islamic Ideology where as Chairman Legal Committee he drafted the Women’s Protection Bill.
Founder of the private law firm H. Khairi Law Associates, he before his appointment as a judge of the Sindh High Court was practising as advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Justice Khairi was the grandson of renowned Urdu writer Allama Rashidul Khairi.
