Election showed a ‘very divided’ nation

Former President Barack Obama gave a “60 Minutes” interview that aired Sunday in which he said that the results of the 2020 US election showed a “very divided” nation. Obama said there was a sense in the US that “the truth doesn’t even matter.” In the wide-ranging interview, Obama also gave reasons President Donald Trump should concede the election and discussed the killing of George Floyd and his own decision to run for president in 2008. He was promoting his memoir, “A Promised Land,” which is scheduled for release Tuesday. When asked by the interviewer Scott Pelley whether it was time for Trump to concede the election to President-elect Joe Biden, Obama said “absolutely.”
