A one day session on the ‘The Role of Novel’ in Social Awareness of Society was arranged by Edwardes College Peshawar at its Old Hall here the other day.
The session was attended by known researcher and literary persona, Rasheed Ahmed as Guest Speaker. Other than, college’s Vice Principal, Shakil Ahmed Nisar, Chairman BS English Department, Dr Gulzar Jalal, Dr Zubair Shah and a large number of faculty and students. Speakers threw lights on introduction and development of novel in literature. A question-answer session was also held in which students asked different questions concerning novel and literature.
Speaking on the occasion, Edwardes College Vice-Principal, Shakil Nisar said that Edwardes College is known for its contributions and it has produced several scholars who are participating in national development. Nisar added that at Edwardes College, students’ academics and co-curricular activities go parallel. Similarly, Dr Gulzar Jalal expressed that old traditions of organizing literary activities will be revived in Edwardes College.
He announced that a society will be established that will work on organizing additional academic and special lectures and activities in the best interests of students.
He urged his students to take active part in such worthwhile activities and added that college management will support students for any fruitful activity.
