ECP shows concern over CoC violation in PP-38

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday has taken notice of appointment of a former candidate of up-coming by elections in PP-38 and sought explanation from the Punjab gov-ernment via a letter.

According tothe details, Dis-trict Monitoring Offi-cer ECP Ishtiaq Ahmed while taking notice of a fresh appointment of Tahir Megmood Hundli advo-cate, a former contestant in upcoming by election in PP-38, as ‘coordinator’ in Public Health Engineering Department and sought explanation from the Punjab government in that regard via a letter to the Secre-tary Chief Minister Punjab, Ayesha Hameed.
The letter mentioned that offering lucrative posts and other benefits to stop a candidate from contest-ing election was a violation of the code-of-conduct, formulated by the ECP and it would not be permit-ted.

The Dis-trict Monitoring Officer Ishtiaq Ahmed has sum-moned Ayesha Hameed personally on 6th July 2021 at 11 am for the explanation.
