A magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Balochistan on Friday as seismic intensity recorded on the Richter scale is 3.6.
The tremors were caused by powerful earthquake in northeastern Balochistan, shaking buildings from regional capital.
The depth of quake was around 15km and epicenter was 45 km southeast of Harnai – a district in north-east of the Balochistan province.
Local residents came out of their homes in panic and started praying. There was however no loss of life or property was reported from any part of Balochistan due to seismic activity.
Pakistan lies in seismically active region and is vulnerable to earthquakes. The region is closer to Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates that can lead to seismic activity.
