ISLAMABAD – A 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Pakistan including capital Islamabad on Thursday, National Seismic Monitoring Centre said.
Twin cities of Rawalpindi-Islamabad, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region witnessed seismic activity around 4pm. Peshawar, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, and other cities witnessed earthquake.
The quake was also felt in Mansehra, Khyber, Buner, and Mardan, Mohmand, and Shangla.

National Seismic Monitoring Centre said earthquake originated from Paki-Afghan border region with a depth of 86 kilometres.
Meanwhile, there have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties due to seismic activity, however authorities are advising KP resident sto stay alert and take necessary precautions.
