DUBAI – Over 3.8 million Indian nationals live in the United Arab Emirates, making the 38 percent of the Gulf country’s total population.
Like all other foreign nationals and UAE citizens, Indians are required to keep with them a valid driving license while driving a vehicle in Dubai and other cities. Absence of it can lead you trouble as you can face huge fine in the UAE.
Authorities in Dubai renewed the driving licences for 10 years for UAE and GCCC citizens while it is renewed for five years for residents from India and other countries.
Renewal of driving licences is available online in most of the emirates, including Dubai. To renew your driving licence, you must settle all your traffic fines. A fine of 10 AED per month will be levied on customers who delay renewal of the driving licence for more than one month.

For customers 21 years and older

+ 20 AED Knowledge and Innovation fees.
500 AED additional fees when requesting the mobile truck service for the eye test and licence renewal.
Meanwhile, the Indian residents can face fine on late renewal of their driving licenses.
