The Islamabad Police arrested 17 outlaws including nine drug pushers, recovered weapons, narcotics, a stolen bike and other valuables during separate actions in different areas of the federal capital on Thursday.
A police spokesman said that in line with the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG (Operations) Waqar Ud din Syed directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the whole city and warned that no laxity would be tolerated in this regards.
A team constituted by SP (Rural) Malik Naeem Iqbal under the supervision of DSP Shehzad Town Ghulam Mustafa including SHO Shehzad Town police station Inspector Rana Muhammad Akram, ASIs Ghulam Sarwer Naeemi, Zafar and others arrested a robber namely Nabi and recovered stolen valuable from him.
The Aabpara police arrested Tariq Masih and recovered 20 liter wine from him. Women police arrested a house maid Shamsa Bibi allegedly involved theft case.
The Secretariat Police arrested three bootleggers Arif, Mustafa and Ameer Zaib and recovered five wine bottles from their possessio.—INP
