The Jhang Traffic Police organized an awareness camp to enlighten public on traffic rules and road safety.
At the camp, Jhang DPO Sarfraz Khan Virk and DSP Traffic Zahida Parveen distributed awareness pamphlets to the citizens to create awareness about use of helmets, rear view mirrors, front lights, indicators and traffic rules.
On the occasion, the DPO said that the traffic police has been striving hard to maintain traffic system throughout the city and district.
He said that in order to maintain traffic system, the traffic police issue challans and fine those violating rules, but due to lack of awareness among people about traffic rules, traffic problems have been on the rise.
The awareness campaign aims at creating awareness among the citizens, he stressed and added that it is the duty of every citizen to abide by the traffic rules.
“We want to send a message to the citizens through this awareness campaign that they should abide by the traffic rules.
They should avoid riding a motorcycle without helmet and rear view mirror, always discourage improper parking on highways, driving without seat belts and using mobile phones while driving to avoid accidents”, the DPO Virk added.
