District Monitoring Officer (DMO), Hafizabad Ishfaq Ahmad Kohli has allegedly transferred seven male and female teachers on temporary basis from their original place of posting of their own choice in the district to violate educational, policy, rules and directions of the School Education Department, Punjab.
According to orders issued by the approval of Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad Touqeer Ilyas Cheema, Ms. Sajida Rafique, EST, has transferred from Government Girls Elementary School Shah Jamal to Government Girls High School, No, 1 Hafizabad, Ms. Munaza Kazmi, EST, from Government Girls High School, Kalianwala, to High School, Chak Chattah, Ms. Usma Ejaz, PST, Girls Primary School Lundian Wala to Girl Middle School, Fawara Chowk, Hafizabad, Ms. Rukhsana Kausar SST from Girls High School, Ramke Chattah to High School No. 1 Hafizabad, Ms. Musarrat Begum, EST, Girls Elementary School, Behak Ahmad Yar to Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Sooianwal, Rana Waqas Haider, PST, MC School No. 1 Hafizabad to District Public Library Hafizabad and Mr. Muhammad Rafique SST High School, Mirza Bangsika to office of the Deputy District Education Officer Pindi Bhattian.
Senior Educationists told that temporary transferred and adjustment of teachers is against policy, rules and directions of the Government of the Punjab and District Monitoring Officer was not authorized to interfere in administrative affairs of the education department.
These transferred orders reflected bureaucratic mindset to maintain hegemony and control other departments as well as to provide relief to influential teachers in pretax of needs bases, they added. The other hand, District Monitoring Officer said that temporary transferred orders were issued on need based to meet shortage of teaching and other staff in the schools and offices whereas DC has discretionary power to shift services of officials to other place to run smoothly affairs of all departments.
