District council approves Rs 534.8m budget

District Council Thatta has unanimously approved a tax-free budget of 534.8 million rupees for the fiscal year 2023-24, with a surplus of 15.6 million rupees. Here in district council hall on Monday.

The budget includes allocations of 258.5 million rupees for salaries and pensions, 22.2 million rupees for office miscellaneous expenses, 2.5 million rupees for government and non-governmental expenses, 8 million rupees for public welfare, 2.3 million rupees for remaining expenditures, 10 million rupees for natural disaster-affected people, 8 million rupees for office property maintenance and decoration, 12 million rupees for ongoing development expenses, and 190 million rupees for new development projects for the year 2023.

Chairman Abdul Hameed Panhwar expressed his gratitude to the People’s Party leadership and the people of Thatta for electing him. He vowed to diligently serve the district by focusing on development projects and welfare initiatives while ensuring efficient use of resources. The meeting, attended by various officials and council members, was marked by positive deliberations before the unanimous approval of the budget.
