ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday launched a digital portal to facilitate overseas Pakistanis for attestation of power of attorney.
Addressing the launching ceremony, the premier termed overseas Pakistanis as an asset. He said that the PTI government is committed to bringing ease to the lives of expats.
He said that overseas Pakistanis are interested to invest in Pakistan but corruption is creating a hindrance in their way.
Commenting on the voting right of overseas Pakistanis, the premier that said the inclusion of people living abroad in the electoral system will strengthen democracy.
PM Imran also witnessed signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NADRA.
This portal will be linked with NADRA’s database and it is initially being launched for ten countries.
NADRA chairman Tariq Malik said that the overseas Pakistanis can now apply for PoA from the comfort of homes. “Annually approx 75K people visit Pak Foreign Missions for POA issuance,” he said on Twitter.
This innovative web-based solution by NADRA utilises online biometrics verification & video interview to verify applicants remotely for PoA issuance.
