DHA Karachi Innovista and Indus IT Feast held a ceremony in which various MoUs were signed to boost tech sector in the country of over 240 million.
Distinguished guests including Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah attended the event.
The guests appreciated this state-of-the-art project in the IT sector for providing development and employment opportunities in Pakistan.
In his address, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah said the revival of the IT sector in coordination with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has been recognized as a key pillar of national development.
In order to increase the role of IT in socio-economic development, I&T is actively cooperating with the Ministry of Telecom and relevant stakeholders. It is our responsibility to provide these opportunities to our youth so that the country can progress in this field day and night, said the CM.
Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Babar Iftikhar while addressing the ceremony said that the Army has actively cooperated with the Ministry of IT and Telecom, the relevant stakeholders should enhance the role of IT in advancing socio-economic development. He said that DHA Karachi’s strategic initiatives is in line with the GHQt Army’s IT vision. I commend the DHA team for completing this important project in a challenging manner in the shortest possible time, said the Corps Commander.
At the beginning of the event, Administrator DHA briefed the participants that:
Various facilities will be available in this IT park, including offices for IT companies, working places, facilities for start-ups/freelancers and incubation centers etc. Along with this, the long-term plan (over 2 years) includes the creation of a Special Technology Zone (STZ) at DHA/ DHA City Karachi and the development of a dedicated Silicon Sector at DHA City Karachi.
The participants expressed satisfaction that the Indus Highway IT Hub is a fully functional co-working space and said IT will promote economic growth. During the event, MOUs were signed with 19 IT companies including Microsoft.
