DG Khan Police nabbed 55 criminals, 20 drug dealers

On the directives of Punjab Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan, a vigorous crackdown on criminals and anti-social elements is underway in all districts of the province.

In this regard, Dera Ghazi Khan Police under the leadership of District Police Officer Omar Saeed Malik, took emergency measures to arrest criminals and achieved significant successes during the past 30 days.

During the operation, the police teams made great progress against criminals and arrested 55 notorious criminals involved in serious incidents like murder, robbery and looting out of which 46 were of A category and 9 proclaimed offenders were of B category. The DG Khan police also recovered stolen goods worth more than Rs1.560 million.

In addition, heavy weapons including 04 guns, 02 rifles, 35 pistols, 01 revolver, 02 repeaters, 07 Kalashnikovs and 792 bullets were recovered from the possession of the accused.

Police arrested 20 accused and 33.540 kg of hashish, 101 liters of liquor, 105 bottles of liquor and distillery were recovered from their possession.

Besides, 04 cases of Gambling Act were registered in different police stations and gambling amount around Rs306,780 were recovered.

DG Khan District Police Officer Omar Saeed Malik said that the convenience of the citizens is being given priority during the operations against anti-social elements so that the sense of security among the people may be further enhanced.

He emphasized upon public that they should consider the police as their helper. Mr Malik vowed that crackdown on proclaimed offenders, robbers, drug dealers and dacoits would continue on daily basis to ensure supremacy of law.
