Punjab Governor and Chancellor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that development of education sector is one of the top priorities of the government and full resources are being provided for this purpose.
The sector of higher education has also been given full attention and many reforms have been made to bring the standard of teaching and research in the universities to the world level the Governor expressed these views during a meeting with the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob in Lahore.
He said that establishment of new universities in South Punjab and provision of funds for development projects was in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan for educational development. On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor thanked the Governor of Punjab on behalf of the teachers and students for the mega development package of Rs. 4 billion for the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
Among these development projects, the campus of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur will be constructed at Ahmadpur East, an academic block and hostel at Bahawalnagar Campus and Bahawalpur Campus will have Institute of Physics, Institute of Agribusiness and a Department of Mechanical Engineering.
