Deadlock persists over core issues between PPP, MQM-P

Dead lock between MQM and Peoples party remained over matters related to local elections and constituencies in Karachi and Hydrabad. The Three hours Long meeting of coalition partners including federal government ended with no results.

Sindh government has told to MQM in the meeting held at Bilawal House in Karachi under the chairmanship of Asif Zardari that moment change constituencies is not possible . The Sindh government’s legal team has clearly said that immediate constituencies are not possible.

A government delegation consisting of Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Prime Minister’s Advisor Malik Ahmed Khan held talks with MQM and PPP.

Government and MQM delegations met former President Asif Ali Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and others at Bilawal House Karachi.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Faisal Sabzwari and Waseem Akhtar are also present in the meeting.

The legal team of the Sindh government gave a briefing to the delegation regarding the local body elections in the meeting of the coalition parties at the Bilawal House under the chairmanship of Saf Zardari. According to sources, a team of legal experts while giving a briefing said that delimitations are not possible immediately, new delimitations require at least four months.

The Sindh government is of the opinion that there is pressure from the Election Commission for local body elections in Karachi and Hyderabad divisions.

Earlier, delegations of Federal Government and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) reached Bilawal House Karachi. The delegation of the federal government reached Bilawal House due to non-implementation of the agreements related to MQM federation and People’s Party.
