DC bans swimming, bathing in rivers

Deputy Commissioner Attock Imran Hamid Sheikh has imposed Section 15 Act 188 PPC under civil administration Act 2017 under which swimming/ bathing in rivers, dams and nullahs has been banned.

This all has been done due to increase of drowning cases. All assistant commissioners have been directed to ensure implementation of the act in true letter and spirit.

During the last six months 19 precious lives were lost while bathing/swimming specially in river Indus.

In this regard a meeting of District Emergency Board was also held and it was unanimously decided to issue an appropriate restraining order.
