Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Defence shared his valuable insights being the head of high-level committee on energy conservation. He stressed the need for conservation of water in parallel to energy.
He highlighted that Fans and Air-conditioners are two main source of electricity consumption in peak loads which is around 18000 MW out of the total demand of 30000 MW.
Most countries have adopted energy efficient practices and technologies to address such issues. But unfortunately, we have to face a lot of resistance to adopt energy efficient technologies.
We are still manufacturing Fans of 120 W and 100 W while Fans with capacity 0t 40 W and even 30 W are also available, and it is globally adopted technology. We can address the issues of peak loads by adopting energy efficient technologies.
