The 8th Diplomatic and Foreign Investment Award 2024, hosted by the Diplomatic Forum for Social Economic Foundation, celebrated the vital role of diplomatic missions in fostering socioeconomic progress. Held at a local hotel, the event brought together diplomats, officials, and business leaders.
Iranian Consul General Hassan Nourian, speaking as the Dean of the Consular Corps in Karachi, emphasized the significance of diplomatic and consular missions in enhancing international cooperation and economic growth. He highlighted their role in facilitating trade, investment, and cultural exchange, as well as providing essential consular services to citizens and businesses.
Nourian reaffirmed the Consular Corps’ commitment to strengthening cultural, commercial, and consular relations with Pakistan. “We will utilize all our capabilities to create a conducive environment for economic growth, attract investment, and foster international cooperation,” he said. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the event’s chief guest, lauded the Diplomatic Community’s efforts in Karachi, acknowledging their contributions to building investor confidence. He outlined the Sindh government’s initiatives aimed at improving Pakistan’s investment climate through the Doing Business Reform Strategy, a roadmap encompassing federal and provincial reform actions.
The Chief Minister invited foreign investors, through their diplomatic representatives, to consider Sindh and Pakistan as promising destinations for diverse investments. He described Sindh as an attractive and secure region for foreign capital, underscoring the province’s commitment to facilitating growth and development.
