Punjab Health Minister Dr. Rashid has said that philanthropists of Sialkot city have provided bio-safety level three labs and high flow oxygen beds in Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College Sialkot which is appreciable. He expressed these views while addressing the media representatives at the inauguration of BS Level 3 Laboratory at Khawaja Safdar Medical College, Sialkot.
Special Assistant to PM Usman Dar, Provincial Minister for Special Education Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq, Leader PTI Omar Dar, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nasir Mahmood Bashir and other local health officials were also present on the occasion. Provincial health minister said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan would inaugurate the ground breaking of ‘Maternal and Child Health Hospital’ in Sialkot within the next one and a half months. She said that the project will cost four and a half billion rupees.
Construction of such maternal and child hospitals in 7 districts of Punjab is being started this year because these cities have not received much attention in the past. Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that Sialkot is one of the cities in which very few cases of Corona have come to light. Today, not a single case of Corona has come to light in 19 districts of Punjab.
She said that a total of 92,600 cases were reported in Punjab and 234 more cases were reported in the last 24 hours and 5 people succumbed to the virus. She said that the way in which the entire nation and government have fought together in the war against Corona is unprecedented in history, and when nations stand up, God’s help is involved. He appreciated the efforts of the philanthropists of Sialkot city and the district administration and said that the establishment of BS Level III Lab has provided the best healthcare facility not only to the people of Sialkot but also to the adjoining districts.
Later, Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid and Provincial Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq attend a ceremony in recognition of the services rendered by government officials, employees and citizens serving on the front line in the fight against COVID 19 which is held at Rumi Hall of Khawaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College organized by District Administration Sialkot.
Dr. Nasir Mehmood Bashir, Deputy Commissioner, Sialkot, while delivering the welcome address, said that the administration of Sialkot, Health Department, Business Community, Rescue 1122, Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital, Media of Sialkot, trader community, scholars, police, Pakistan Army People from all walks of life including Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Traffic Police and Tiger Force played invaluable roles.
