Computer lab for special children at Makli centre inaugurated Special children have extraordinary potential and we should play our due role in getting them a dignified status in our society for their success in every walk of life.

This was stated by Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for rehabilitation of special children Sadiq Ali Memon while addressing the inauguration ceremony of a computer laboratory at the Centre for Rehabilitation of Special Children, Makli, on Saturday.He said that Sindh was the first province to have made legislation pertaining to education of children with special needs.

It would prove to be a significant move in the coming years, he hoped, and said that Sindh government was committed to providing due facilities at such centres across the province.“I have issued special directions to the administration of this centre to mull over extracurricular skills of these children,” said Sadiq Memon.Talking about the derivatives issued by Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, he said that the government wanted pick and drop, food and other facilities to be made available at all such centers, and was working on improving the quality of life of differently abled children so that they could contribute to flamboyant future of the country.

He further said that the centres in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas would be upgraded soon and physiotherapy centres would also be opened there. The event was attended by teachers and parents of special children, director of social welfare department Khuda Bux Bahrani, former DG colleges Ghulam Mustafa Charan, Member SRSO Humera Ali and senior politician Abdul Hameed Memon, besides people from different walks of life and officials of the district administration.Towards the end of the event, shields and gifts were distributed among special children and teachers.Speaking to reporters after the event.
