The Pakistan Naval Academy (PNA) hosted the commissioning parade for the 122nd Midshipmen and 30th Short Service Commission (SSC) Course, celebrating the graduation of 49 Midshipmen and 29 SSC Cadets. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, attended as the Chief Guest, with Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, welcoming him.
The Chief Guest congratulated the newly commissioned officers and their families, commending the academy’s exceptional training standards, including programs for cadets from allied nations. He expressed hope that international graduates would strengthen ties of friendship and mutual respect. Highlighting the significance of modern trends and technologies, he urged the officers to remain prepared for emerging geo-strategic challenges in the information age.
Commandant PNA, Commodore Tasawar Iqbal, earlier detailed the academic and professional training provided to the cadets. Awards for excellence were distributed by the Chief Guest: The Quaid-i-Azam Gold Medal was awarded to Lieutenant Muhammad Imad Ud Din for being the best all-around officer. Sword of Honour went to Midshipman Tennakoon M.L. Vimukthi from Sri Lanka. Academy Dirk was presented to Midshipman Muhammad Shayan. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gold Medal was given to Officer Cadet Abdul Rehman. Chief of the Naval Staff Gold Medal was awarded to Officer Cadet Ali Jalil Ibrahim Sharif Shuhaib Al Shabani from Iraq.
