Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hassan Naqvi, reiterated the Sindh government’s dedication to the development of all industrial areas in the city. He emphasized that the city administration is actively addressing civic issues in these zones.

Addressing members of the Landhi Association of Trade and Industry during a visit to their office on Tuesday, Naqvi stated that his purpose was to familiarize himself with the challenges faced by the Landhi industrial area and to collaborate with industrialists to resolve these issues. Present at the meeting were Deputy Commissioner Korangi (holding the charge of DC Malir) JawwadMuzaffar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Malir, all Assistant Commissioners of Malir, along with office bearers and members of LATI.

The association highlighted concerns regarding the non-desilting of stormwater drains, damaged roads, and traffic congestion to the Commissioner. It was decided that cleaning of drains would commence from June 20 before the anticipated monsoon rains, and with the cooperation of the Karachi Municipal Corporation, the Landhi industrial drain would be cleaned.

Additionally, immediate steps will be taken by the district administration Malir to resolve the traffic congestion at QaidabadChowrangi. Measures will be implemented to prevent encroachments of pushcarts at QaidabadChowrangi, which obstruct traffic flow, with strict action against violators.

The association expressed its willingness to contribute to the rehabilitation of drug addicts.

It was agreed that the association would initiate a program for the rehabilitation of drug addicts, and the district administration would extend full cooperation to ensure the success of these efforts.

Moreover, repair work on damaged roads will be undertaken gradually with priorities set, and Deputy Commissioner Malir will collaborate with the Karachi Municipal Corporation and Town Administration to execute these measures.
