Cold, dry weather expected

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted that most parts of the country will remain cold and dry in the next 24 hours. According to the PMD, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, while thunderstorm rain is also possible in the southwestern districts of Balochistan.

The Meteorological Department had said that Islamabad could experience rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder, while western regions will remain partly cloudy. On the other hand, in the past 24 hours, the lowest temperature was recorded in Layyah at -14°C, while Kalam recorded -12°C, Astore -9°C, and MalamJabba -6°C.

Skardu, Gupis, and Hunza recorded -5°C, Bagrot -4°C, Rawalakot, Gilgit, and Dir recorded -3°C. According to the Meteorological Department, Quetta recorded 1°C, Islamabad 3°C, Peshawar 6°C, Lahore 9°C, and Karachi remained at 16°C.—INP
