LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered the authorities concerned to ensure provision of clean drinking water to the public across the province.
The Punjab CM also directed them to ensure that all faulty filtration plants are functional.
She made these directives while chairing an important meeting at her office in Lahore on Tuesday.
CM Maryam also sought a comprehensive plan for the provision of clean drinking water in every area, ordered the immediate activation of inactive and faulty water filtration plants across the province.

During the meeting, a report about 5527 water filtration plants was submitted before the Punjab chief minister. She directed the officers concerned to ensure filtration plants in the areas of salty water.
The Punjab CM sought a comprehensive report about the water plantations across the province, with the directives to make the faulty plants functional.
“It was also decided that the matter of water filtration plants is needed to be handed over to an authority,” said Punjab CM Maryam.
She directed the officials to install new filtration plants on priority basis in areas with brackish water.
While speaking during the meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the relevant authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure the provision of clean water to the citizens.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Provincial Ministers Maryam Aurangzeb, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, Chief Secretary Punjab, Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Water Authority Zahid Aziz and others were also present there.
