LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday directed foolproof security arrangements for the Christmas celebrations across the province.
The chief minister also directed to enhance the security measures for prayer ceremonies in churches during Christmas and ordered all district administrations and police officials to oversee the arrangements.
CM Maryam directed an increased deployment of police and other security personnel at churches in Lahore and other major cities.
Besides it, Maryam Nawaz emphasized the need for improved traffic management during the Christmas celebrations.
She decided to express solidarity with the Christian community by cutting a cake at the Police Meesaq Center and directed offering special discounts for the Christian community in subsidized markets.
The CM said that no negligence would be tolerated regarding the security of Christian brothers, and the relevant departments should ensure cleanliness around churches.
