Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Friday inaugurated Punjab Rozgar Scheme which is said to be the largest employment programme in the history of the province.
The agreement was signed between the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) and the Bank of Punjab.
While addressing the inauguration, CM Usman Buzdar said that the government sets the priority to provide easy loans worth over Rs30 billion to the youth under the scheme.
He said that the initiative was taken to transform skills of youth into investment by the provincial government. “As many as 1.6million people will be able reap benefits of the scheme.”
Under the Punjab Rozgar Scheme, citizens will be provided easy loans worth more than Rs30 billion for new and running businesses besides assisting the small and medium enterprises to recover from coronavirus crisis.
CM Usman Buzdar said that the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is working hard to serve the masses and added that Punjab Rozgar Scheme to provide maximum employment opportunities in this crunch economic situation.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman directed the Home Department for inspection of fire safety arrangements in high-rise buildings, shopping malls and commercial plazas in the metropolis.
A circular in this regard has also been issued to commissioners and DCs for a comprehensive survey.
Fire safety arrangements will be checked through survey teams consisting of additional deputy commissioner (revenue), district officer 1122, civil defence officer, district officer (industries) and the representative of housing department/development authorities.
The management of all such buildings will be bound to keep fire-safety equipment functional along with arrangements for safe emergency exit.
Similarly, the owners will also be responsible for the fire-fighting system and the concerned administration and civil defence officials will be bound for regular monitoring of fire-fighting arrangements and submission of reports to the CM Office.
On the other hand, the CM took notice of firing at famous Qawwal Sher Miandad during a dacoity in Faisalabad and sought a report from the RPO along-with early arrest of the accused.
Meanwhile, Usman Buzdar said celebrations of the blissful birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) will be celebrated with full religious fervour and zeal.
MESSAGE ON Anti-POLIO DAY
CM Usman Buzdar said that complete eradication of polio disease is a top most priority of the government.
In his message, the CM maintained all-out resources are utilized to give a healthy future to the children. The Health Department, as well as the administration, is activated to overcome polio disease and I am personally monitoring steps taken in this regard, he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar chaired a meeting to review steps for rehabilitation of affectees of Hafeez Centre fire. The CM directed that a mechanism should be devised in three days adding that the government will take steps for compensation of losses. Our sympathies are with the traders and they will not be left alone, he assured. Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht, Secretary Finance, Secretary Information and Deputy Commissioner Lahore attended the meeting.
